Your Day, Your Choices…

Stefan Pich Ceremonies, News, Weddings

Congratulations!! So, if the idea of a ‘one size fits all’ ceremony, conducted by a stranger in a suit doesn’t appeal to you, then consider enlisting the services of a Celebrant for your wedding day. In the light of the recent revelation from the Duke & Duchess of Sussex that they had 2 ceremonies, then what’s stopping you? Owing to the fact that Celebrants cannot carry out the legal part of your marriage, you will need to do exactly that – have 2 ceremonies. Until the law changes – and …

A Fresh look

Susan Foxall Ceremonies, News, Weddings

Many of my wedding couples who have been forced to postpone their wedding day due to the virus have said to me that, even though it was stressful and disappointing; even though they were upset and didn’t want to delay; in the end it was a good thing because they had a chance to reflect on what they really wanted for their special day, rather than feeling pressurised into doing things in a certain way.  Is this you? If so, take a step back and take another look at your …

This note is to update you on my plan for flexibility and scheduling concerning events scheduled to take place over the next few months. There is much fear, anxiety and panic surrounding the virus. However, taking steps to be prepared and make prudent decisions will help us to be calm, even in anxious times. Collectively, we are in this …

A busy January

Susan Foxall General, News

Later that week (after the ceremony in Conwy) I attended another awards dinner, this time in Stratford at Macdonald Alveston. I was nominated for an award by fellow celebrants and the dinner was combined with belated Christmas FOIC (Fellowship of Independent Celebrants) celebrations. It was a very sparkly affair, with everyone in their Sunday best. I didn’t win on this occasion, but it was fab to catch up with my colleagues, and me and my husband extended our stay in Stratford until the weekend – an opportunity for a short …

Check this out! – a lovely write up in County Brides magazine, featuring a ceremony I officiated at Vale Royal Abbey. The lovely Kirsty and Matt got married last year at this beautiful location, choosing me to create and conduct their bespoke ceremony. They talk about the choices they were able to make in personalising their ceremony, and included a Celtic hand-fasting so that the ceremony was completely unique to the two of them. Take a look at the gorgeous photographs and get in touch to find out more – …

Combined Ceremonies in Staffordshire

Susan Foxall Ceremonies, News, Weddings

I am delighted to have been selected as one of the Celebrants to participate in the ‘Combined Ceremonies’ pilot scheme set up by Staffordshire County Council. This is an innovative and refreshing approach to enable bridal couples to have the legal part of the marriage conducted at the same time as their Celebrant-led ceremony, and to promote the working together of the Registration System and independent Celebrants. If this is of interest to you for your forthcoming wedding, then please get in touch as soon as you can – it’s …

Combining my passions

Susan Foxall News

Recently I was contacted by the Guardian – they had run an article about me when I first set up Simply Ceremonies and they were checking in with me to see how I was getting on. Fortunately I am still newsworthy! They ran an article about my plans to visit the USA to become a legal wedding officiant across the pond. They were really interested in this from a ‘local girl makes good’ kind of angle. The reporter and I chatted about plans to spread the word internationally, and how …
